A short ride of 25 km today from Skudai to Jahor Bahru, but riding on a very busy expressway with lots of merging traffic during peak hour was not my idea of getting an adrenalin rush as Matt so put it.
On arrival Jahor Bahru (the border) it was goodbye to Malaysia and the friendly and hospitable Malaysians that we met along the way and those key Malaysian officials who so kindly supported our ride by providing safe passage for the long ride home riders throughout Malaysia. Not too long after arriving Jahor Bahru we were processed through Malaysian and Singaporean Immigration before moving onto our R&R stop downtown Singapore.
A big rest period over the week before riding again, this time with the Australian High Commissioner (Singapore) to Kranji War Memorial and cemetery on Tuesday for a special service there to pay homage to our fallen heroes.
Today, being the 73rd day of riding since leaving Hanoi on the 12th May, a total of 5,850 km and getting closer to the start of the Australian section of riding.
An opportunity to thank some marvellous people for recently donating to my cause, "The Long Ride Home" - it has assisted in getting me this far to Singapore, the end of the SE Asia Leg. Greatly appreciated from the TLRH team back in Australia and myself to:
Sua and Jess
Mt Evelyn RSL
Customs Agency Service (Mark Callus)
Paul & Cynthia Quaglia
Naomi and Tom Gallagher
Well done to you all - it's great encouragement from you as donors to assist me doing the hard yards allowing me to push myself further and further (in the saddle for many hours a day) along the way to finish in Sydney 20th November .
All the best to all
On reaching the end of the Asia Leg in Singapore.
