Via the Military monument at Cam Ranh Bay.
Big day from Nha Trang to Phan Rang following the most beautiful uninhabited coastline for 120kms. Paradise in quite a few places with new satellite villages ( modern style ) resorts, and ultra modern apartments ( million dollar price tags ) developments in the early stages happening along the coast.
A Soviet Union/Vietnam military monument ( Air Force & Navy ) came into view when pedaling along when almost reaching Cam Ranh Bay airport. I had a late start this morning but off to my left when approaching the monument and looking straight into the 10.00 am sun the most outstanding marble monument came into view. A jet fighter aircraft strategically carved at the top of the monument to allow the sun at that certain time of the day to cast a shadow of the aircraft image across the marble floor and into the courtyard in front. A navy seaman and airman holding a small boy on his shoulder ( holding a peace dove ) stand above the base of naval destroyer making it one of the better war monuments I've seen in quite awhile.
